Aristotelis Chatziioannou, PhD, co-founder, CEO
Electrical and Computer Engineer, Bioinformatician
Aristotelis Chatziioannou received the Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Metabolic Engineering and Biomedical Informatics from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1996 and 2005, respectively. He has been also active in the field of industrial consulting. From June 2004 to August 2005, he was with Alexander Fleming Biomedical Science Research Centre, as an expert in bioinformatics. Since September 2005, he is member of the Institute of Biology, Medicinal Chemistry and Biotechnology, National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens, whereas from 2010 to 2020 was the Principal Investigator of the Metabolic Engineering and Bioinformatics Program. He is currently appointed as Director of Research in the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. His current research interests include in-silico biology, knowledge mining in life sciences, genomic analysis, molecular pathway analysis, biological ontologies, bioinformatics, biostatistics, metabolic engineering, computational biology, and biomedical image processing. He is the author or coauthor of more than 100 journal and international conference papers in these fields.
Eleftherios Pilalis, PhD, co-founder, CTO
Computational Molecular Biologist, Bioinformatician, Data Analyst
Eleftherios Pilalis holds a BSc degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, a MSc degree in Bioinformatics and Genomics, both from the Aix-Marseille University, France, and a PhD in Bioinformatics and Metabolic Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He has been affiliated for many years as a post-doctoral researcher with several research centers and universities. His research interests include a wide spectrum of Bioinformatics applications in Biotechnology, Systems Biology, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Metabolic Engineering, Genomics and Metagenomics. He has also considerable experience in Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, business and product development.
