BioS

https://bios-project.eu

“BioS: Digital Skills on Computational Biology” project approved in the European Framework of Erasmus+ / Sector Skills Alliances Programme. BioS aims at advancing the digital skills of medical doctors through the design, development and delivery of new modular vocational curricula on Computational Biology & Bioinformatics. The purpose is to provide medical doctors with knowledge, skills and competencies, which will allow them to tackle effectively concurrent challenges in EU healthcare systems, services, and policies, in benefit of the health of EU citizens.

DISCOVER

http://discover-network.eu/

DISCOVER is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie and Horizon 2020 project bringing together researchers in the fields of cell death signalling, immunology, protein structural chemistry, drug design, bioinformatics and computational biology in a network that will exchange reagents, technologies and knowledge. This cross-sectoral network will form a synergistic environment that aims to aid in understanding how the death ligand-death receptor signalling network shapes tumour – immune editing processes. The research programme will lead to better understanding of the evolving role of non-canonical cell death signalling in driving tumour cell motility and invasion and inhibition of tumour immune surveillance.

INSPIRED

http://inspired-network.eu/

INSPIRED is a network of academic and industry researchers in the fields of IRE1 biology and drug discovery, that share knowledge and expertise to develop new treatments for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

TRAIN-ERS

TRAIN-ERS Leaflet

Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) stress is now emerging as a common feature in the pathology of numerous diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic syndromes and inflammatory diseases, annually affecting millions of patients worldwide, and posing an enormous cost burden on the health sector. TRAIN-ERS brings researchers together with world-leading academics, clinicians and industry personnel and provides them with the knowledge and scientific and technical skills that will drive our understanding of the Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Response and the application of this understanding to identify innovative strategies for the treatment of ER stress-associated diseases.

INNOCENT

http://www.innocent.pixellaris.com/

The INNOCENT project combines multidisciplinary approaches aiming at overcoming several limitations regarding the therapy of solid tumours, specifically of breast cancer.  Recent advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology provide unique opportunities for targeted delivery of anticancer drugs to tumour tissues while minimizing their unwanted side effects and toxicity. The use of multiple therapeutic approaches in combination has become the primary strategy to treat drug-resistant cancers. The aim of the INNOCENT project is to develop innovative multifunctional nanopharmaceutical to overcome the low efficacy and frequent relapses in breast cancer treatment, with emphasis on cancer stem cells. The proposed multimodal nanodrug COMBOBOMB, will integrate the diagnostic and therapeutic functions within a single nanostructure.
