eNIOS technology enables extraction of signatures directly from VCF files (SNPs and indels) or other omics data, directly linking a small number of detected SNPs to plant phenotypes and molecular pathways. This approach gives a valuable tool for rational plant breeding and strain optimization strategies.
Causal SNPs and other genetic variants (e.g. epigenetic changes) are dramatically filtered, prioritized, and evaluated for their cumulative impact. Less evident, systemic regulatory effects can be thus revealed, as the evaluation of thousands of individual SNPs has been proved an inefficient approach for dealing with complex molecular mechanisms.
